There are multiple Articles of Luxembourg Law that allow you to qualify for dual citizenship!
To utilize the Membership Discount, you must obtain an Individual Membership or higher. If you have minor children included in your Dual Citizenship Application, you must purchase a Family Membership or higher.
ARTICLE 7
To qualify under Article 7, you must have an all male lineage leading back to an ancestor born within the modern borders of Luxembourg between 1815 and 1946. No travel to Luxembourg required.
You also qualify if you were born in 1969 or later and your mother’s lineage is all male leading back to an ancestor born within the modern borders of Luxembourg between 1815 and 1946. No travel to Luxembourg required.
Process with the LACS:
INITIAL CONSULTATION
Consultation call lasting 30-45 minutes discussing your qualification, overview of the citizenship process, description of fees, and opportunity for questions. Required for ALL applicants over 18 years old. Payment required at the end of the initial consultation session.
- $150 for LACS Member* ($50 for each additional adult family member with the same qualifying ancestor and current LACS membership)
- $250 for Non-Member
DOCUMENT SUBMISSION
Securing of necessary vital certificates in Luxembourg. Payment required at time of document submission.
- $300 per LACS Member* ( $100 for each additional person with same qualifying ancestor and current LACS membership)
- $500 per Non-Member

ARTICLE 23
To qualify under Article 23, you need to have a parent or grandparent who is or was a citizen of Luxembourg. Travel to Luxembourg required to present Stage Two Packet.

STAGE TWO PACKET PREPARATION

POSTHUMOUS APPLICATIONS
Posthumous applications are possible if a deceased parent or grandparent would have been able to qualify through Article 7. Travel to Luxembourg required to present Stage Two Packet.
This process is completed by applying on behalf of the deceased parent or grandparent through Article 7, while you are able to apply for citizenship through Article 23.

ARTICLE 89
Stage One of Article 89 must have been submitted to Luxembourg by December 31, 2018.
Update: The Luxembourg government has extended the travel deadline to present your Stage 2 paperwork in Luxembourg to December 31, 2025. This only applies to Article 89 applicants who already submitted Stage 1 by December 31, 2018.
