LACS to Hire Summer Event Management & Marketing Intern- PAID Position
The Luxembourg American Cultural Society (LACS) in Belgium WI is seeking an Events Management & Marketing Intern for our Luxembourg Fest and other summer events. This paid internship is a great opportunity for anyone interested in fundraising, non-profit management, event management, hospitality, and marketing.
Intern will be paid a total stipend of $1,200 with a minimum requirement of 150 hours completed over the summer. Start date negotiable, however the intern must be available to work from August 1 – 17, 2022. Other hours are negotiable. The internship will take place onsite at the LACS, some duties may be done off-site with Executive Director’s approval. Go to www.lacs.lu for more information.
The Intern will work closely with the Executive Director, LACS staff members, and Marketing/Event Coordinator and will support multiple activities associated with Luxembourg Fest, a four-day event August 11 – 14th. Event activities include a Fest Fundraising Dinner, Cultural Forum, Private Donor Event, Members Meeting. Luxemburg Fest activities include a Treipen Eating Contest, Parade, Kids Zone, Bands, Mass, and Food Vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Attend planning meetings and work in a team environment that includes Community members.
- Responsible for all stages of planning and implementing specific event activities.
- Manage and solicitate auction items (in-person and virtual auction).
- Work with Givesmart in managing ticket sales and virtual auction.
- Assist where needed to set up and take down event seating and tents.
- Assist with social media and other marketing materials for the event.
- Develop connections and unique marketing initiatives to promote the event
- Other duties may be given to support the operations of the Society.
Requirements:
- Good Communication skills and enjoy working with large groups of people.
- Must be available to work long hours through Luxembourg Fest Weekend.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift 25 lbs is required.
- Candidates can be enrolled in and on track for a degree in Marketing, Development, Hospitality or Event Management or are making a career change.
- Drivers license and vehicle is required (you will be reimbursed for travel specific to the internship activities)
