Citizenship Update

The staff and Board of Directors of the LACS hope that everyone is doing well and that you are all safe!

The staff at the LACS received the following statement from Luxembourg’s Ministry of Justice: 

“Due to the current situation, we consider criminal background checks valid up to 6 months after their issue date” 

We anticipate the possibility of more changes to the process once and end date is in sight but I thought it would be helpful for our members to know that the Ministry is thinking about the impact of COVID-19 on citizenship.

Just a few quick reminders: 

• The LACS cannot speculate on and end date for COVID-19 measures. 
• The LACS cannot speculate on revised travel dates
• The LACS cannot speculate on Bierger Center procedures or certificate parameters and what may be updated after travel has resumed. 
• The LACS will not speculate on any extensions to Article.89.
